Types of fidelity and treatments
Fidelity refers to the level of detail in your designs. This module provides checklists to help you refine the visual and interactive details of your interface, demonstrating how the design should look and behave in production. These checklists are most effective when you have a basic structure and layout in place and are ready to enhance the user experience.
While the steps are presented in a logical order, feel free to jump to specific sections based on your current design needs and priorities. We'll cover how to improve the fidelity of the following aspects:
Visual style is also a form of fidelity, but I’ve reserved that topic for it’s own section.
Throughout this module, we'll use Cluster as our example to illustrate how these principles can be applied in a real-world scenario.
Prerequisites
Before diving into this checklist, ensure that you have the following:
A clear understanding of the project goals and requirements for Cluster
Low-fidelity wireframes or sketches outlining the basic structure and layout of Cluster's interface
A design tool or software (e.g., Sketch, Figma, PenPot) for creating and refining high-fidelity mockups
Now, let's begin with our first checklist.
